Kleos Cristina Enea is a proposal developed specifically for the VI Culture and Citizenship meeting and that, as a cabinet of wonders, relates botanical species with scientific, artistic and sound fragments. A hybrid story that, through plants, tells us about the travels, connections and crossbreeding that cross us as a culture.Kleos Cristina Enea is an app that invites you to listen to the musical memory of the plants that surround you and weave them with each other through your walk in the park, on a route that connects Tabakalera with the headquarters of the Cristina Enea foundation. Along the way, each plant has associated a fragment of traditional music from the geographical area where it originally came from, activating and increasing its volume as we approach it.To compose this open work, which you can perform with your own movement, 46 musical fragments have been used without changing their original tones, making only a few tempo adjustments to connect them with each other. The piece has been composed from recordings of popular Basque songs collected on 78rpm discs, woven with fragments of the first folklore sound records made in different parts of the world on wax cylinders. On this sound base, which shows the materiality of its recording medium, other pieces of traditional expressions recorded throughout the 20th century in the places of origin of botanical species are articulated.Kleos is therefore an application to tune into plant diversity, but above all to provoke a state of attention and emotion in the face of our shared presences.
